Hiii! So I got a buff Orpington, 2 silver laced Wyandottes, and one Americana from a chicken store. The buff Orpington and wyandottes are about 10 weeks old and the Americana is about 11 1/2 weeks old. Buttttttt, the Americana still hasn’t grown her beard yet? I will put on a picture of her but do yall think it could be a health issue?

I took these pics about a week ago, her name is Shiloh, so what do yall think?

I see a young beard on her. Give it time. Feed store birds are not going to conform to the standard of perfection as from a reputable breeder.
Your girl is an EE.

This is my EE, Karen, around 15 weeks of age. Her beard now at 2.5 yrs is much thicker.

Americana with an I is a misleading name for Easter Eggers.. they have no standard of perfection and can therefor have any skin color, feather pattern, comb type, any egg color, and be bearded or non bearded, etc..

What you have there is no Ameraucana with an au which has breed standards that do include a beard.. but a non bearded Easter Egger, also confirmed by her non conforming feather pattern.

Unless you see other behavioral issues that would otherwise indicate health concerns.. then I'd not be worried about it.

Note the laced Wyandotte that's seen in the pictures is golden not silver. Cute flock. 🥰

Unless she has some pin feathers still growing in on her face I don't think she will get the beard or muffs. Americanas are not a pure breed but rather a generic term for colored egg layers/easter egger. Because they are a mix breed they do not have a standard so not all will have beards and/or muffs. You can usually tell when they are chicks if they will have the beard/muffs by how fluffy their cheek down is. These are a couple of my EEs as chicks I bought from the feed store, both have fluffy cheeks and still have them as adults.

Compared to one of my other EEs from a hatchery who does not have the beard/muffs.

And as a side note, if your silver laced wyandotte is in the photos on the right then looks like a gold laced wyandotte. Silver laced would be a black and white bird.

Ok thank you! I bought them thinking they were silvers and then realized they were golden laced, lol! I think my mind still thinks silver! 🤪

Ok, thank you so much for your help! I got the wyandottes thinking they were sliver as babies but realized that were gold! lol! My brain must still think their silvers! 🤪
