These are six week old chicks from McMurray. I have Cuckoo Marans and Barred Rocks in the group, but these are much darker!

Pic #2's legs are dark = Maran.

Can't see the other ones legs.

Oh, forgot to mention that I have 16 Marans (9 weeks) from McMurray and one pullet and one roo have yellow legs, the rest are dark. We are eating the roo and I'm giving away the pullet.

Here are the two Maran's with the yellow legs (which are faults and why I'm getting rid of them..notice broken toe on roo):

Marans generally have white or slate colored legs, Barred Rocks are yellow.

Maybe your lighter barred rocks are roos and the darker ones are pullets. Barred rocks have yellow legs, while adult cuckoo marans have whitish/pinkish legs (I'm not sure of the color of the legs on marans chicks).

Female barred rocks are typically darker than male BRs and ususally have a dark wash (grey) going down the front of their yellow legs.

These are my hatchery BR pullets at 7-8 weeks of age.
