What breed...

I had the best Buff Orp chicken that was a great mama. She was a great sitter and mama. She hatched out two of her own batches and one batch of eggs that I sat under her. We moved her all three times from the chicken coop to the shed and that didn't even bother her. She was great!

Unfornuately we now longer have her; lost her a predator.

Here is a pic of my buff orp broody from last summer. She raised orps and araucana chicks.

And how about a broody rooster? (don't mind the flash on his eye in the pic)

All of my varieties of Araucana are great broodies too..

My silkies go broody a lot, but my best broody has been Sandy, an oegb x d'uccle. She sat on 20 of her own eggs and hatched out 16 and managed to keep all of them alive and well. She's also hatched out lots of silkie and dominique eggs before going to live with a friend.
