I've got a Red Star. I love that breed. She is an AMAZING layer and so sweet. They are cold hardy if you live somewhere that gets really cold. It gets pretty cold here, so that definitely helps. They are tons of other good breeds but a red star is my favorite right now

Red star/golden commet are the #1 layers that lay brown eggs. They are sweeties too I love them! I don't want anymore red chickens tho. I'm putting colors into the flock this year.
