What breed?

Sounds like welsh harlequin eggs.. Could even be a cayuga maybe. Cant really tell till it hatches!

I haven't seen any ducks on my friend's farm that look like Cayuga's, (the color of them anyway), although, he does have some strange colored ducks there. Cayuga eggs are pretty large too, aren't they? The greenish-blue eggs I got from him are not very big. Maybe the size of a large chicken egg. Pretty much oval in shape too. I couldn't really tell the large end from the small end. I hope I put them in the auto turner the right way (large end up)....lol.

He had a beautiful black and white duck there, (hen). I wanted that duck BAD!! The bottom half was black and the top half was white. I tried my best to get him to sell her to me but he wouldn't part with it. I offered him $25, then $30, then $40. I quit offering at $50....lol.

Anyway, it's late so I'm heading off to lala land. Gotta be up early to feed and water my chickens, 47 of them. Talk with you tomorrow, gnite.

All of his chickens, pheasants, and emu's are penned up. Only his ducks, geese and peacocks are free roaming. The nest we got these eggs from was outside the chicken pens a little ways under an old car hood. My friend spotted the nest when he saw one of his ducks coming out from under it.

Really, the only way to make a good guess is to know what breeds he has, and if those are pure breeds or mixed. Then wait for the ducklings to get their feathers in. Mixed breeds (which is likely what you have) are difficult to pin down. (Think of mutt dogs.)

Mutts or not, ducks are awsome and I'm keeping all that hatch....lol.

If he has different breeds running together, your eggs are barnyard mixed.

All ducks are lovely, so whatever they are, you will be happy with them.

It's very possible that those eggs are partially incubated, so you are going to have to try to guess when they will hatch by candling.
