what breed?

I do know that he is a hatchery bird so I don't think he is a cross. He is a very large bird.

I don't think he is a wyndotte. They are medium size fowl. This guy is twice the size of my buff orpingtons. But you guys are the pros
 
I think I agree with White Wyandotte. After posting, that thought came to my mind. (I haven't seen any White Wyandottes, just the laced or buff ones). The comb does look like a rose comb, which they have. And the tail is right.

In my experience Wyandottes don't have to be medium size. My Buff Wyandotte hens, which came from a farm, not a hatchery, are not medium size. They are very big fat fluffy ladies...as big as my Buff Orps that i used to own. Wyandottes are duel purpose birds meaning they are used for eggs and meat, which is where you get your larger birds.

Nice big fella anyway, whatever he is. :D
