Hello chicken community. I have a question for everyone. I have these 3 lovely little white chicks and am trying to figure out what breed they are and if possible what gender. Hopefully someone can help me out. Thank you.

Looks like a broiler chicken. They are big and husky. A leghorn would be more thin.

Those are Cornish Cross broilers. They are strictly meat birds.

Twunker is correct, leghorns would be tiny compared to those guys. I butcher my batches of meaties around 7-8 weeks old for around 5 lb birds.

Rooster, not sure about the one in front
They do look like broilers. They will become huge very quickly if you don't restrict their feed and encourage them to forage. They have been bred for maximum weight gain in the minimum time possible.

Unfortunately, I agree with the others. These are white broiler chickens and will die of heart attacks or breathing problems if you let them eat free-choice and don't butcher by 12 weeks or so. Most people butcher around 8-10 weeks. Even if you look here on BYC and learn how to restrict their feed, they may die any way.

Thanks everyone. I spoke with the lady that I got them from and since she hadn't been sure of what breed the birds were, she told me to bring them back and she refunded my money. She apologized several times saying she had gotten them from Tractor Supply and didn't even realize that Tractor Supply sold broiler chickens whether that's true or not I'm not sure but happy that I got my money back so now I can look for some laying hens instead. I did tell her what others on here told me about restricting their feed but after I put them in the chicken pen it was like my words fell on deaf ears so to speak and she dumped a huge cup of feed on the ground. Hope she decides to butcher them and not let them grow up and live a miserable life due to their size.

It can be very frustrating when people don't listen to you. At least you tried your best to explain, and you got your refund and you can try again with some more chickens.

If I were you I wouldn't get anything from tractor supply. They sound terrible! There are so many posts on BYC from people who have no idea what they got from TSC because chicks have been mis-labelled.

Yes it can be very frustrating but to each his own I guess. I got lucky last year at TSC with my golden comet pullets but I'm not buying anything else from TSC anymore since I've discovered all the different breeds and color varieties you can get when you buy from reputable breeders.
