I got the pullets from a guy that got them from a hatchery said they were not the "pick of the flock" whatever that means but he didn't know what breed they were..they are about 6 weeks old now ........the roosters are about 14 weeks old and from a different guy..thought they were marans...anyone can help??
i will try to get a better picture of the pullets as they have changed alot in the past few days..the black pullet seems to have some white on the wing feathers now and so do some of the tan ones...

Hi folks
Any clues as to what these 8 week olds might be? I've also got a thread elsewhere about gender!!

Can you get better photos? Close-up and clear would help a lot. Otherwise, the pics just aren't good enough to tell.

edited to add: I meant this comment for the OP, thanks.

Hi, Happy. Welcome to BYC!

Could you maybe make your own thread about these birds, or even better include the fact that you need to know breed as well in your gender thread? When more than one person is asking questions in a breed and gender thread, it gets very confusing.

And if you could include info such as how old the birds are and where you got them, that would help. These birds are either young males or older pullets at point of lay. They look like a production hybrid such as an Amberlink.

I'm really sorry I thought this was a general thread I'm on my mobi and wasn't sure what I was doing!. I've tried to delete but don't know how to.

No worries. You don't need to delete, but if you want to you'd have to click the red flag at the bottom left corner of your post and ask a mod to do it.

Here's a link to the What Breed or Gender is This? forum, where you can post a new thread. I know some forums get touchy about starting new threads, but it's encouraged on the What Breed or Gender forum. https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

I find the mobile site to be frustrating as hell, too.

yea i knew the photos weren't very good will try again, the pullets are getting more color and feathers also so that may help.......will take me a few days will post when i get them...thanks
