What breeding projects are you working on or you want to work on.

I'm getting into the Blue/Black/Splash silkies this year. Hatched out chicks from 5 or 6 different breeders. I also ended up hatching out a trio of whites (either popped out of the splash line/are splashes just taking a long time to get their colors/or possibly the eggs got marked wrong). Have to see what they turn out like and then decide if I want to keep the "whites" or not. I've always wanted whites, so we'll see.

so far it is comeing real good, when this one and another get olds enough i will start showing them.

I am working on my BBS orps ( not a project, and I started with some excellent stock, so unless I am completely loonie I should continue to see quality in that pen)
and i had a buff Roo get in with one of my dominique hens....hatched a little roo (sex-link gene) I think I will grow him up and put him in with some of my Buff Orp girls and go from there....heading into the lemon cuckoo project!

Ok I will post something new
At the moment i am trying to acquire some buff silkies for a breeding project. In the future, i would like to raise EEs and silver Phoenix bantams.

Im starting my own little 'for fun' project with birds from the area i.e. no shipped eggs! I wan to create a breed that is kinda like freedom rangers, but i want broody hens and i want body type to be more of a "u" from head neck tail, and a leaner rooster. I don't have a set color, but eventually i would love a mahogany feather base with a chocolate lace...is that even possible? lol, right now im planning on hatching some BOxRSL , ELxAustro , BRxAustro, BRxRIR, BRxEE. Its more for fun to create my own dual purpose breed. Im going to call them "Scottish Hens" lol, only because i live in Scotland CT. haha.
