What breeding projects are you working on or you want to work on.

That is the issue we are having, we can't find any breeder quality birds. We were lucky enough to find the one cock we have, stupid me forgot to ask the information for the person we got him from. Luckly he is a judge and from my area so I will find him! He helped develop buff old english, one of those old timer guys! We ordered 25 buff chicks from ideal coming in in may. Hopfully we will get something to work with. Im probally going to end up crossing them back to blacks and wheaten to get the type and size down as i heard they come bigger then your typical old English.

I would go wheatens personally, but just preference there...I would do white tailed buffs if I could find some good ones, but the colors I would really like can pretty much only be found in hatcheries, and Im not ready to tackle that mountain...

Here's a updated picture of my project cockerel. He's the best so far from my Blue-laced barnevelder project

I'm still working on lavender australorps. Hatching F2 lavender chicks now. Looking for the absolute best breeder of black australorps that I can find. I want to put an awesome BA roo back over the lavender pullets when they are old enough to continue to strengthen the genetics and type. Chicks are gorgeous so far! I'm loving the lavender color.

Also, I acquired a Light Sussex roo who is amazing - "Big Boy". Since I could not find pullets or hens for him I put him over two buff brahma hens and the chicks are super cute so far. Look like they will be marked up like LS but with slight feathering down outer leg. Nothing I intend to pursue long term as I do have LS pullets growing off now, but the hens keep Big Boy happy and the chicks should make beautiful hens and the cockerels good eatin'.

Thanks for letting me share! Tips on finding great BA breeder welcomed!
