What breeding projects are you working on or you want to work on.

i am working on perfecting the standard silkie . we have HUGE silkies, that are pure, lay huge silkie eggs , now we are working on the comb and the leg feathering. it would be a lot easier to have some help lol

well, we were working on barnyard EEs to improve our "mongrel horde" layer flock, then thought, lets bid on some SQ auctions and see what happens.

if we win the auctions, it helps us narrow down our choices, if something manages to hatch, narrowed down further, and maybe if we get a good trio- we have a simple start to a simple project.

we bid on 5 auctions, and don't you know, we won them all!

So, now time to set eggs and see where we go from here...

good luck on all your projects, take lots of pictures and keep posting.

I really want to try Lavender Cuckoo Orpingtons. I saw a picture of them, and really want to try. I just have to figure out the proper genetics. I have Lemon Cuckoos and Lavenders, but Lavender is a recessive gene, so I think I need Black Orps. Anyone have any input?

Current projects here are buff bantam Faverolles:

And bantam silkied Ameraucanas...don't have pics of them - their broody mama gets especially persnickety about me reaching in there, even though they are nearly as big as her!! They are all F1s, all blue because I used splash silkie hens with black Am cock.
