What breeding projects are you working on or you want to work on.

I had a mutant silkie-frizzle naked neck that I bought at a swap. It was actually the most adorable bird I've ever had. Something about frizzle feathers on a naked neck just work.

I crossed Buff Naked Neck hen with my RIR rooster. The chicks hatched this week, and are very attractive! I am hoping for a darker egg than what my naked neck lays, and I want red feathered birds! I am also planning on breeding for olive eggers, and I want to cross my White Faced Black spanish rooster to my gold phoenix.

I am currently working on Buckeyes and hope to add Delewares in the spring. I have had my Buckeyes for about 10 months now and am just starting to make my first breeding selections. I got a pair at the Ohio Nationals last year and then ordered two sets of hatching eggs and hatched some from my pair. They are all just getting around to laying so I hope to hatch lots next year and really get a great flock going.

Some of the sizzle/frizzle projects sound very interesting. I would love to see pictures, especially of the Showgirl Sizzles!

I love my Delawares. Just a heads up sekinkead...it doesn't matter who/where your stock came from, Delawares are a continuous and everlasting work in progress. LOL

I'll post pics of the Shizzles later this year. My Showgirl roos are just coming of age to breed...but my little Sizzle girls are still youngsters.

This is going to be a really fun winter!

I've been looking for awhile for some quality dark brahmas. I want to help work on the darks to improve on them as our lines here have gotten diluted and are poor quality compared to over seas. *sigh* why does everything have to better and a wider selection over the big pond? And they don't share!

I have started a combless Modern Game Bantam. I have an incompletely dominate combless from one of my other breeds. I've been reducing the body size, and I finally have a hen small enough for a MGB roo to cover. I'm going to try to hatch some this fall--we'll see what I get!

I would like to get a flock of Hamburgs that has a good size (a bit larger than the SOP), lays well, and is hardy. I am not going to be concerned with the coloring or trying to make show birds. I want a flock that can reproduce itself. Always depending on a hatchery to buy chicks is not something I am interested in.

My birds are only 10 wks old. Here is a picture of some of them:

These were ordered from Murray McMurray. There are a few decent birds in the batch of 26. Two cockerels were ordered, but I have 4. I'll be culling two of the cockerels. Next spring, I'll select a few of the best hens to mate with the best rooster. I am considering ordering some more from a different hatchery, maybe the golden spangled to cross with them so that I am sure to have a more diverse gene pool.

I'd love to here from anyone else that likes this breed.
