What breeds do Rhode Island Reds get along with?

We have two RIR, two Columbian Rock, and four barred rock. They get along fine, although one of the RIR is at the bottom of the pecking order at the moment. She doesn't seem to mind. They both have sweet dispositions, not aggressive at all. Very friendly. She doesn't get pecked, just squeezed out of the way sometimes.

Good luck with your choice!

I've got 2 with a BR and a OEG bantam, and they're all getting along great, now that the pecking order is established and they're no longer scared of the bantam... (The bantam was there first, the other three were just added in, and my bantam is at the top of the pecking order!)

I have a mixed flock of hens... 2 RIR, 3 bantam OEG, 2 EEs and 2 light brahmas. All get along, tho the oldest RIR is the leader and second in command is one of the bantam OEGs.

My RIR's are not mean at all and they came from a hatchery.

Mine are raised with Polish, Barred Rocks, d'Uccles, Seramas, Guineas, Black Australorps, and Easter Eggers.

Our largest flock consists of RIRs, Wyandottes, Easter Eggers, Delawares, Australorps, Black Stars, Red Stars, Welsummers, and Barred Rocks. They all get along beautifully. I think it's much more a matter of living conditions (it helps to have lots of room) than breed. My RIRs are among the most gregarious and easy going of the flock!
