What breeds do Rhode Island Reds get along with?

I have 2 RIR, 2 Orpingtons, 2 Barred Rocks, 8 Silkies, and 3 Australorps. One of my RIR's is friendly to the others, but the other RIR is meaner than a junk yard dog to the Silkies. There's definitely a pecking order and she RULES. Especially when it comes to getting in the coop at night. NO ONE is allowed in until she goes in, and even then she won't let Silkies in until ALL the other bigger girls are in first. THEN the Silkies can come in. If a Silkie tries to get in before she wants them there she pecks and bites.

I keep telling her she's about to become supper, but I don't think she believes me.

my friend has 3 rir's with light sussex and a silver layced wayandotte and a battery hen

My RIR from McMurray do not allow hands into the nesting box for egg collection--a hard peck on a hand causes great reluctance to repeat the movement. We wait for the hen to move off the nesting box.

I read they were or could be aggressive too; and therefore felt they might have the confidence to deal with predators. ANd why I skipped the salmon faverolles as they supposedly are timid. I free range and give everyone space to disperse. I only mention this as it may be a factor in the behavior toward other hens. I don't have any problems.

I have 6 ten week old chickens and 10 4 week old chics. By the time we get them the babies they will be 6 wks old. The older ones act like little mother hens. I am hoping all get along. I will be getting 3 those island reds. The babies are so much fun.
