What breeds lay blue eggs

Okay, I am not a chicken expert by a long shot, but I just read an article that stated Cream Legbars were originally Legbars crossed with the Araucana to get the blue tint to the egg. If that's the case, then an Araucana might be a better choice. If you want a more saturated color, you might want to read up on the two breeds and make a determination based on that.

Look for the base breeds instead of the mixes. You might try the Cream Legbars or the Aracaunas Aphrael mentioned. I have Cream Legbars on my list-of-birds-to-buy just because I love the shade of blue they lay.

I also want some Croad Langshans, but that's an egg of a different color.

I found this while digging around the net for egg color info one day, and found it helpful.

Oooo. Thanks for that link! Very interesting info on there.

From the research I did recently on Cream Legbars (I was considering adding some to my flock), many of the ones that are available now don't always lay a "true blue" egg either. Their eggs may range through shades of blue and green.
