What breeds of turkeys do you guys have????

View attachment 1101183 Hello all!! This is a shot of the turkey my folks are raising. He's pretty friendly and follows my daughter around the yard where ever she goes. His name is Tomas’. He was raised alongside 2 Peking ducks and 2 Khaki Campbells. He also follows them everywhere, even into the pond up to his breast. I'm looking forward into doing some research and getting me a few bourbon reds come spring of next year.

What breed?? He's so handsome awww I love him!

After mourning the loss of my blue slates. I have purchased me some more turkeys yesterday(8-15-2017) I am now the happy turkey momma to 4 royal palms and a mystery turkey. The neighbors dogs ended up getting both of my turkeys, 3 ducks and a hen and rooster of my Ayam Cemani chickens.

I'm so sad you lost your birds, but I'm glad you got some more. Your mystery turkey looks bronze.

I've kept all the breeds on that list except Narragansetts, but gave my birds to a friend (long, long story, and yes, I miss them terribly). I've kept a Midget White and a pair of White Holland before, as well as broad-breasted whites and bronzes. I've also kept a few handsome mix breeds and currently have a pair of them.

The tom appears to be red slate, and the hen is indeterminate so far. Both most likely have a MW dad, but a Bourbon might have sired the tom, so I'm hatching out and learning more about turkey genetics in the process.

Jake Jake is getting bigger boy feathers in... and they're darker? Going to have to wait to see what phenotype he's actually going to express, I guess. Henny Penny is a pretty copper and chocolate color where she isn't cream and white.

I definitely have 2 toms. 1 I knew for sure when I bought him. The other I found out when they went head to head with one of my chickens over some bananas that the turkeys didn't even like, but I think I might have 3 maybe 4. But if my luck stays true then I have 5 lol.
