What breeds should I get next year?

Thank you! Do you have a faverolle and do you recommend the breed?

I don't own one, but they are on my wishlist lol. I am a sucker for bearded chickens and I hear they have a lovely temperment too! The only reason I haven't gotten one is I live in a hot climate and while my bearded ladies have done fine, the combination of beard + feathered feet worries me. I am an easter egger gal myself, all but one of my birds are some variety of easter egger and I want to always have some in my flock, they are as amazing as I heard they were when I was just learning about different breeds of chickens.

That's really neat! I live in a climate that can be pretty hot and also below freezing. So I'm not sure how it would fare. I have an easter egger as well and she is the most skittish chicken I've ever owned

That sometimes happens, the bird in my profile pic is my late easter egger Sage who sadly passed last year from wet fowl pox. She certainly was the most skittish bird I've owned thus far as she would not let me pet her and if I did manage to catch her she would lecture me until I put her down. She was absolutely stunning and had the prettiest voice and she always looked and sounded annoyed. Even though she was skittish she still showed she liked me by hanging out near me and running up to greet me with the rest of the flock. Given I don't like physical contact (with people anyways, I'll pet a cute animal all day, but don't hug me) I found her relatable and her sass amusing. My other EEs are nowhere near as skittish (although Vanilla is a little skittish) and I can pet most of my flock most of the time

1 olive egger roo
1 light brahma
1 black sexlink
1 black australorp


Edited to say that they all (excluding the olive egger roo) lay tan eggs so I probably wouldn't want another breed that lays light brown eggs.

Flo my EE, the skittish one, she does run up to me with the rest of the flock but otherwise she always thinks I'm gonna kill her

You have a lot of black and white brown layers. I'd suggest the Marans and/or Arancana to give you some more diverse egg colors. Pure Ameraucanas or Easter Eggers would also make a good addition if you're looking for more egg colors. I also think the Wyandotte, ISA Brown, and Orpington will give you some more fun color and pattern varieties within your flock. My other personal favorites that you may consider getting are Sussex, Welsummers, and Buckeyes.

Yes I think we definitely need more feather colors too! The hatchery does offer welsummers, I had one once named Puddles, she was super shy.
