I adore my Australorps, who are calm, good layers, fast-maturing, and tolerant of hot weather, but I have to admit that many other breeds also have these good qualities.

I can't speak to parasite-resistance. If persistent parasite problems are common in your location you can breed the hardiest birds over generations and develop specific resistance/tolerance over time.

Any chicken kept in vigorous good health through appropriate care should be as resistant as they can be, though I'm sure that there is genetic variation that contributes.
