My chicks hatched in incubator in our atrium, and have raised them in large box with light. I just give them chick starter. Shall I just put them in large pen and keep there there till they are big enough to put in chicken house with grown ones?

I have 2 RIR and 3 silkies.
All of them love the meal worms.
Only my RIR will eat the alfalfa sprouts that I put out. They love them but the silkies won't touch them.

I'm new and just soaking up all the great advice. I just gave my three week chicks a clump of grass with roots and dirt all still attached. The have loved pecking at it and scratching around in the dirt. Is that OK for them?

I want to know what can my three week old chicks eat other than chick starter feed? I already gave them some grit. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Mine love watermelon but you need to remove any seads or they can get sick and even die from what I've read

How about the obvious - eggs?
All my chickens love scrambled.
Honesty, they love raw eggs also.
I don't recall giving raw eggs to chicks that young but I did when they were a couple of months old.
Any damaged egg, I cracked it into a small dish and then crushed the shell and threw it on the ground in a different area.
