What can be done about green scum build up in waterer?

No algae here...change water every other day and use raw-unfiltered ACV. Waterer is also in the coop...gets pretty hot sometimes.

Is your waterer plastic? Adding vinegar to a galvanized metal waterer is a no-no due to possible oxidation and leeching.

I have an auto waterer with a plastic bowl. I just keep a spray bottle of vinegar water and a rag in the coop area and wipe it out once a day.
