Hello everyone! I have four chicks right how that are 1 1/2 weeks old, and I was wondering what I could give them besides chick feed for treats. If they were being raised by a hen, I figure they would eat all kinds of bugs, grass, grit, and other things outside, but I just wanted to double check. So what can I give them? Any advice appreciated. Thanks :)

My Chicks only get a Medicated Start & Grow feed for 10 weeks. At two weeks I mix in Chick Grit at a 1/40 pound ratio.
At 10 weeks I offer them Scratch Grains scattered around their pen daily 20190212_121137.jpg and a flake of Alfalfa hay weekly.
The chick starter grower has all the nutrients they need to grow up healthy.
My seven 7 months old Barred Rocks started to lay at 20 weeks and all were laying by 23 weeks. 20190212_133326.jpg .
They gave me 42 eggs last week. 20190211_095420.jpg . GC

Do they have grit? If not, feed them only chick starter. If they have grit they can eat other things.

I bought about a 2 gallon bag of granite grit from the local mill, they put it in their chicken scratch. Ran it thru a colander with 1/16" holes. Bagged the smaller stuff for the chicks and sprinkle some over a chunk of sod in the brooder during the second week.
