Not trying to be anti-chicken (heavens forbid), just a reminder to be careful.
About six months ago our neighbor fell in their (commercial) chicken yard and cut and broke her ankle.
The doctors have been trying everything to clear the infection out of the bone.
We found out today that they had to amputate her leg from just below the knee down.

Now you know why, as much as I love going barefoot, I will always wear my knee high rubber boots in the chicken yard.

Good reminder!!! People need to be careful out there. I know from the massive amounts of rain we had, the ground in the coops are spongy.

Urm... I love to go barefoot as much as the next guy but in the chicken run?

Noooooo thank you!

We had this discussion on BYC about a year ago (?) and I was one of the few people that said I wear boots in the chicken yard at all times.
