I'll have to figure out a place to put the snake tank for them.

Hubby will LOVE that idea - indoor "chickens" on a permanant basis

Oh but tell him they are so cute! And they are really about the same size as a parakeet, but they don't need all the height! They only fly when they are scared or excited, so they are pretty neat!

I know, I've seen that pic before! I also saw a pic of a button quail baby next to a quarter, and the quarter was bigger! You just really have no idea how little they are though, till you see them in person. The one I have was about half the size of my A&M chicks at hatch, and those are about 1/3 the size of my bantie chicks, and you KNOW how small they are! And the button eggs are about as big as a dime! So tiny! You can keep 3 button quail in a 10 gallon fish tank!

That's great! It seems like it's about the same price as USPS, and that's what UPS does, shipping packages. I shipped a lot of 'stuff' here to KY this past spring from Florida, both UPS and USPS. The UPS stuff had no problems, the USPS stuff had a box that got opened and lost most of the contents, and a broken TV, that they have never reimbursed me for! I wish there were a UPS drop off here, so I could use them as well. I will have to search.

I hope ya have one! If not, check out stores and companies ask if you can ship through their ups pickups? I'm spoiled and lucky because i just package my packages upbefore i go to bedand put the package by my moms purse and she ships it out with the packages for pickup for UPS at her work

I have buttons due on the 25th. I have chickens due on the 25th. I have at least 4, and probably 6, duck eggs and a 'couple' goose eggs that will be here Monday or tuesday next week (the 24th ot 25th). I have one forced air bator, one still air bator, and one crumby hatcher. I also have 10 button eggs on the floor waiting for me to figure out what to do with them!

The forced air has the chicken eggs, and the still has the buttons. After the 25th-ish, there will be nothing in the still air, and 7 chicken eggs in the forced air. I'm thinking I'll put the button eggs I have on the floor in with the chicken eggs, and the ducks and goose egg's in the still air, after those buttons hatch

I read you really dont care about the chicken eggs, but that youlost the one roo to the one eggs so that's a delema!!! I say for sure hatch em all, and I really cant give you any advice on what to do other than if that was me i'd makeit work somehow...lol because if im not selling an egg, i'm hatching it! LOL! I only eat eggs that are infertile, or cracked others must be sold or hatched or i feel likea sinner! LOL!!! HAHA!!!

Yeah, I understand what you're saying! I was thinking LittleRalphieRoosmama got me for the swap, but I was hoping I was wrong! Don't get me wrong, I love button quail, but it's just bad timing right now!

The duck and goose eggs don't even get sent till tomorrow, and I could always tell her not to send them, but I realllllly want those eggs! Plus I already told my DS that we were getting them, and they should hatch on Christmas, he would be so mad at me if I don't get them!

I think I have it figured out though. I'm gonna let the buttons from Tori hatch in their bator, the goose and duck eggs can just wait a day or so to go in. I will put these button eggs in the bator with the chicken eggs, and then pray like heck and keep my

the whole time!!

I am actually now cutting down the carton these buttons came in, and piecing them together with some other quail cartons I have, to make them the same height as the chicken eggs. I incubated the button eggs I got before on their sides in a carton, since they wouldn't stand up in it, do you think that would work? The way it would turn is side to side, whatever degree the turners tilt. I only got 1 button out of the last batch, so idk.
