What can they eat

I find they don't like that kind of food until they get older.
If you really want to give them treats, I would stick to things like yoghurt, oats, ect, and keep it to a minimum.

Lol - my birds get a variety as soon as they can eat it.
Grass, bugs, yoghurt, ect.

Had no problems. That's what I'm happy to do, and I would usually advise other people to stick to the feed if possible.
But I don't believe the right treats in the right amounts hurt a bit.
It has even helped a couple of times.

If you give chicks anything but their chick starter you must also give them appropriate chick grit.

I had to scramble for that because I was brooding outside in the coop and my babies started hunting down ants and ganging up on a spider within an hour of coming home from the feed store. Optimally, I'd have waited a week at least to make sure that they didn't fill up on grit instead of food.
