And you got him for FREE! NO WAY! I ordered from Ideal,and the only free roosters I got for warmth were barred rocks or black sexlinks! Not fair!

I quoted you because I wondered if you were a John Wayne Fan??? I'm not, but my BF is a huge fan and he named his "roo" that while I was away on vacation and it turns out it's a hen!!! He was so unhappy that his "Duke" turned out to be a hen that he refused to think otherwise!

I tease him all the time by telling him that I renamed him Cogburnadette! And told him about the first time she was covered by our REAL roo!

Thanks everybody! Newchickowner: I love your cogburn story! No, I'm not a John Wayne fan really but my father is so I had a lot of exposure as a kid. When I discovered "he" wasn't a "she" I started calling him Rooster Cogburn just off the top of my head and wasn't really sure what it meant. After a couple of months, (the name stuck with the whole family) my husband asked me how I came up with it. I had to Google the name to be reminded where it came from....

I guess I must have lots of John Wayne trivia deep in my subconscious.
