I have been dying my own hair for many years. I use petroleum jelly around my hair line - just a thin small amount (EWWWW
I hate the feel of the stuff)
But the dye that does get on my skin washes right off. I learned that in 10th grade from the high school cosmetology teacher.
Was one of her tricks.... I use a washcloth with warm water and a small amount of soap and rub it off - rest of it comes off when I rinse and condition my hair.
