What cardinat point do your chicken prefer.

I live at 26 degrees north and my chicken strongly prefer roosting facing south. I was curious if anyone has noticed similar behavior?

Don't think it has anything to do with geographical latitude.
They like their back ends towards the wall.
My birds face east when on their roost that runs north-south against the west wall of coop.
They face south when on the roost that runs east-west against the north wall of coop.

Ty @aart yes that is the most solid coop area to their butts. We have opened everything else up for ventilation.

Mine face east and west depending which roost they are on. Their coop door faces north.

My roosts run East West along the south wall in one coop. Most birds are facing North when I go to close the coop.
The other coops roost runs North South along the East wall. They face West.

Yup butts to the wall, faces toward entry points.
