I have a white jersey giant chick who's feathers are growing in upside down. Otherwise she is healthy and it doesn't seem to effect her. but what causes it? Is there a way to correct it?

That is unusual looking. Are those the wing feathers? I wonder if she could be a frizzle....She looks more like splash in color than white. Cute as a button!

I thought frizzle too, but it's a white jersey giant he got from a hatchery. Isn't that crazy!

Crafty- Frizzle is a kind of chicken with curly type feathers. Google "frizzle chicken" and you'll get some pics. They're cool looking.

I'm not very good at describing feather patterns, but an online search for "frizzle hen" should give you a good idea. Basically, the feathers on a frizzled bird are curled and less compact than 'normal.' It isn't a breed, but rather a feathering trait.
