What causes bloody eggs?

We don't have a rooster. What is the deal with bloody whites?

Bloody whites wouldn't matter if you had a roo or not, it has nothing to do with fertility if that's what you're hinting at. I believe it has to do with the hen/pullet itself. Something with the plumbing, hope someone else jumps on here soon!
