I have read that page before and it says if the chicks are smeared then the humidity could of been too high....so that is where I get confused......

I know my temps are right on because I have 3 thermometers that read the same thing and I keep it at 99.5 to 100 the whole time. I have smeared chicks which is a sign of high humidity and then I have them not pip the membrane which is a sign of low humidity ???

Some of my eggs had this problem too but, if the humidity is the problem, how come some of the chicks could hatch & some of them couldn't in the same condition(in the bator). I know the humidity is very important during the hatching, though. or, it can be something wrong with chick embryo? I was just wondering...... Noriko.

Some chicks are just more resiliant than others. There was a lady on here that thought all her eggs were bad, so she threw them out. Well some hatched in the garbage, just goes to show ya.
