What chicken breeds don't bully and are friendliest to each other?

i add new birds to my flock but its like 4 or more so they have a group and so they can handle their own because not all the birds will go after them at once well fi you have a small flock then they will .. i have around 27 birds and i have 35 more chicks coming to go add in but they are from my eggs and then 2 ducklings then i have a broody duck on 18 eggs

Hi,

I have a flock of Buff Orphington's that are very well mannared. My girls are great, they are very calm and peaceful. My boys even
can pick them up and carry them around the backyard to eat bugs out of the gardens.

My rooster, Roy is great!! He is a real blessing. He is good with the girls and good with us. He is non-aggressive to humans and even
lets me pick him and dote over him. I have found that they BO's have really been a great backyard breed for those who want a breed
that is calm and dosile.

Here are a few pics of my girls.

Hi Roy,
I've been hearing that about Buff Orphs. I may try them next if it don't work out. But, I think the Buckeyes will be ok. I read many people saying that they are nicer to each other.
I divided the run with fencing and netting on the top part. The Buckeyes and Silkies love it! Thanks again, Jan!

And, when my dh gets home, I'm hoping he will help with dividing up the coop. The 3 older birds are angry about it. Winston wouldn't even eat clover from my hand. I didn't realize that they were so bull headed either.

So for now, everything is working out ok and all the younger new ones are happy. My young Buckeye's wound is healing quite quickly and amazes me.

Roy,
I forgot to say that I love your birds, coop, and the aprons. Do you have to put those on everyday and take them off? Those pictures are lovely! Do you have 2 coops?
Oh and we have always loved going to the Smokey's. My dh is wanting to go now cause it's been a few years.

I've had good luck with my Cochin and our new peeps. Our barred rock can get really over the food and treats

Thanks, glad you like the girls home. I do have two chicken coops. We were going to have another breed but decided against
it because it is too much for me to keep up with. We are now using the spare coop to store chicken supplies. We may one day
get another breed and put it to use. But for now it is a good back up. I do use it occasionally for a hospital or broody area. It does come
in handy when I need to isolate a member of the flock.

It is beautiful here in the foothills. I never get tired of seeing the mountains. We go hiking regularly and visit the park in the fall
when the trees are turning. It is beautiful. We are also not far from Pigeon Forge and Gatlingurg. We usually hit those hot spots
when tourist season is not at its peak.

If you have not you might try reserving a cabin in the smokies for a week or so. The views are amazing.
