What chicken is egg is this from?

Does anyone know what chicken may have laid this egg??

Have a backyard mix for our first ever hatch! Don’t have high hopes, but hoping we get one or two hatched!

i get some really speckled ones like that from my RIRs and BAs sometimes. Sometimes the “paint booth” is a little off!

Honestly, we can't say based on a single egg. Given a list of breeds, we might be able to narrow it down a little.

Here is the list of breeds the farm I got them from said they had:

Of those, my money would be on the Sussex or Welsummer. Could still be any of the other brown-laying breeds, but those two seem most likely to have laid an egg of that colour and size. RIRs, Wyandottes, BRs, usually lay a very large egg. RIRs tend to coat very brown, even though they'll add speckles on top. BRs are less likely to speckle, and lay a paler egg (that's my experience, anyway.) Wyandottes tend to lay a pale egg.
