No pics just wanted to ask if blue cochins are very discerable compared to blacks around 6-7 weeks age or does the feathers come in quite a bit different shade early on? Also some of my "balck" cochins have a white spot or two on the tips of a wing or two, just want to make certain they are blacks and I am not dismissing different colors. What makes for a less show worthy bird in the buff and black cochins? Thanks! Beth:idunno

For a long time, i thought one of my two blue cochin girls were black...but it turns out they were both blue. But, you should be able to tell the difference between your black and blue cochins well by 6-7 weeks.

I wouldnt worry about that bit of white - my black langshan had the same thing, and she grew right out of it as she got older.

Dont know about buff, but the same rules about body shape and general fluff to all cochins. As far as I can remember, black color needs to have a good sheen, as well as no bleed through or fading, if i remember correctly (which i might not!)
