My LF Pure Blacks. I do not contaminate them with my whites, common laced blues or my LF Lavenders. All the colors are rather nice and glad to see some dedicated breeders keeping them pure and not mixing the colors. Also look forward to all the projects with all those new colors some dedicated breeders are in the process of perfecting. HS
True blue chicks hatch as a beautiful silver/gray. I have been told many times that you never know what you'll get with the Ameraucana eggs when hatching. But it sure is neat, like christmas morning when you hear those pips!
Not realizing what I had for babies, I believe I gave away my duck wing and other amazing styles of roos. Wish I knew then what I do now- and all that knowledge is BYC learning!
I would also consider egg color too, and try to get some birds from the bluest eggs you can find. If I were looking for hatching eggs to start an Ameraucana flock, egg color would be right up there in my search criteria--possibly my first priority.
