Yes you would think black x black would = black lol, but here's a picture of mom's and the dad....ignore the white chickens they aren't the parents..lol
they are out looking for bugs while we clean the pens...

wow...whites and silvers too....how cool...! A nice surprise ..! Mine on the first hatch, hatched out what I think are partridge or blue partridge...
and the second batch are the ones we think might be blue..lol It's crazy...!

Here is one of the whites from my blue hen x buff rooster. How does that happen? lol. I know it's a recessive white, but still. It's just cool how genetics work

and the same hen and roo come up with this! I'm not complaining. I'm not sticking with any sort of colour. They are all silkies, but have funky colours

well then I guess I really need help? A friend has given me 3 silkies. The parent choices are white to white or white rooster and black hen. the one easy one is Longfeather - the white one but the other two look black with lighter spots , first born Chirpy and a week came Marvel and Longfeather. What color would the two darker ones be and what is a splash color/how do you get that color. I really don't care what color they are or if they're a mutt I still love them and they're still my babies!

I think the chipmunk pattern one may be partridge when feathered, though they still are only a week old. I love the whites. I think they are cuter than I expected

they look black to me maybe its the lighting but a black to black breeding should give you black

2 blacks can make a blue
