I hatched 8 silkie chicks. I have 2 black, 2 blue, and the 4 in the pic I can’t tell. I have paint hens, a black hen, a blue rooster, and a partridge rooster. I didn’t know if the white ones were paint, splash, or lavender. I know lavender is very rare, but I hatched paint a few months ago and these chicks don’t look like them at all. What do splash silkie chicks look like?

Well your paint hens have one copy of dominant white so technically chicks they have with the blue or the partrigde could come out white.
Lavender, also known as self blue, has to come from lavender parents or a black parent that is split to lavender as it is a recessive color.
One of your hens would have to be either blue or splash in order to get splash chicks.
So I agree that these chicks are likely white.😊

Following with interest as I am trying to learn about silkie coloring as well!

What about the one in the middle of the two white chicks? (circled in the pic for reference) That one looks more grey to me.

I am just starting with these. I ordered 3 white chicks and one looks like the one in the picture circled. Mine are only a week old. But I was wondering if this little off colored one could be a different color.
