Partridge-like coloring is quite different in males and females of the same breed- look at welsummers or partridge rocks, for example.

I have one other that looks just like picture 2. He is the taller and leaner one, and the other looks identical except smaller and rounder and squats down when a rooster comes near. But as I've been shown, that doesn't necessarily mean hen....

Please pardon my ignorance...but what are "streamers" in the crest? I am relatively new to chickens and only have one silkie girl so silkies themselves are enigmas to me... : ) Love them though!
I was wondering if anyone could help me with these? I am thinking my white silkie is a male. Can anyone verify? And what are your thoughts on the grey sizzle?? I am think female??!!?

I am at a loss cassie: didn't even know for SURE my silkie was a hen until she adopted some chicks and laid an egg...that being said, I can truly tell you that your "sizzle" is maybe the cutest little chicken I have ever seen!
