It's interesting how blue + blue gives 2x blue, black, and splash.
I'm assuming this all applies to Silkies as well, right?

All breeds work the same genetics-wise.

Yes, applies to all breeds as @Amer posts above. Reason why many people start with a BBS (blue/black/splash) pen when they start breeding birds that come in this color. Blue has become very popular and you see it in more and more breeds for example Orpingtons and Ameraucanas as well as Silkies.
