What color call duck!?!?!?!?!?

Ok. And you are not that far away, so shipping started birds should not be a huge issue. Even eggs should ship well that close. I ship alot of eggs, and last year with a few extras people were getting 5-6 out of 8 eggs.

They are very pretty! It is hard to say what they are for sure. They are lighter than most of the Nutmegs I have seen (not that this necessarily means anything and that could change as they molt). The other sex-linked recessive in ducks is Buff, but there are a number of reasons I suspected they were *not* carrying Buff dilution (in particular the color of the parents because Buff the color, also has homozygous Blue, which you would have seen in the parents if they were the result of a Buff x Grey).

Anyway, it is still hard to say. Can you find out what colors the breeders had that they originated from? They could be lightly colored Nutmegs or they could be Wild type with Buff dilution (which I don't think is even a named color). I would still breed back to the drake and just see what you end up with. They are certainly pretty. Here is a page with more info on Nutmeg:

They are looking at their best now, breeding has begun, and they have been loosing feathers and molting non-stop. I have no idea who the breeder of them are, I bought them as call ducks at a local swap. The only colors that the guy had were greys at the sale.

If anyone is interested in these eggs let me know. They are laying like crazy, if I dont get any responses by this weekend on hatching eggs, I am going to be putting a TSQ blue fawn drake in the pen also, just to improve the babies... Not sure what that cross would bring.

Selling these eggs in lots of 6, sending 7 or 8 eggs, depending on the girls.

Nate
