What color did you paint your coop?

Mine isn't painted yet, but if I do should I paint it a dark color to attract more sunlight/warmth in winter? Would painting it a really dark color work like that?

I would not paint it dark for that purpose. Mainly because heat in the summer (if it is dark colored) is much more of a concern than being a little colder in the warmest parts of the day in the winter (if it is light colored).

Yes, painting it dark like that will make an observable difference in the temperature on sunny days - even if the coop has good ventilation (like an entire side completely open, if the other sides are closed so the wind doesn't whip through).

I think paint or stain colors can be anything you like! As far as light vs. dark colors, keeping the coop cool in summer matters a lot more than heating it in winter, except maybe in the far north.
And fun color combinations that would be not so terrific on a house, sure.

My big coop is made from leftover metal panels that the barn is constructed from--red and white. My small coop is painted with browinish oops paint. I repainted the top white to reflect more heat.

My husband built me a chicken coop for my ladies and I still need to paint it. Looking for some inspiration!

We decided to do a sage green since our coop is in our backyard near Garden space. We wanted it to kind of blend in with nature. When we get to the point of repainting again I would probably stay with the same color. We do have a fun bright egg sign on it that's from a company that makes fun outdoor Signs that's purple for a little accent

We decided to do a sage green since our coop is out in the garden area and we wanted it to blend in. We do have some fun accents on it I have a nice purple sign that says fresh eggs come from Happy chickens. It's from a company that does outdoor signs that are related to Urban chickens and rabbits Etc. If I had to repaint it I would definitely do it again it Blends in nicely. I'm definitely not into hot pink and all that kind of stuff. I think for security too, given the way the world is right now, in an urban setting it's better to have people not know that you have chickens

I couldnt decide at all then I saw Lowes had a 5 gal bucket of solid deck stain for the mistint price. Guess what color the coop is now?
