What color do you get if you breed a lavender orp rooster to a chocolate orp hen

You will get black chicks.

They will all carry the lavender gene (from their father), but will look black. When they grow up, if you cross them to each other or to a lavender chicken, you can get some lavender offspring from them.

The males will carry the chocolate gene from their mother (it is sex-linked), but the females will not. When they grow up, those males can produce chocolate daughters when bred to any color of hen, and chocolate sons if bred to a chocolate hen.

Because each male chick carries lavender and chocolate, some of their offspring could inherit both genes, but I don't know what you call a chicken that expresses both lavender and chocolate.

I’m believe I’m getting some chocolate orps I already have a lavender roo I just can’t find a choco roo so just wondering thanks!

That’s okay But thank you! I wish I could especially from you but I’d prefer not to meet someone from byc in person but again thanks so much!

If you get chocolate hens, you can cross them to a black male (all chicks will look black, but the males will carry chocolate.) Then cross one of those sons back to the original hens, and half the chicks will be chocolate. Crossing chocolate to chocolate should produce all chocolate.

(This is if you do not want lavender in the chocolates.)

Treat Lavender like Black. You won't get any Lavender offspring unless your Chocolate is carrying Lavender. Which I don't think is possible. The AC is off in the office and my head is throbbing or I could think better. @Amer @The Moonshiner @nicalandia could probably tell you exactly.
