Is Chuck the duck a Muscovy? I've read that Muscovy/Mallard Derivative crosses may hatch between the 28 and 35 day periods.

he thinks he is " all that and a bag of chips"
i acquired him a few months ago and his tail has not stopped waggin since he got here....

My girl that's laying now lays a definete green egg - Maybe more like a light olive color, but very distinctive. Super easy to tell those apart from my Welsh Harlequin eggs.

Usually early in the season the first eggs will be greenish, fading lighter as the season progresses. Usually an off-white khaki color.

As for the first 10 not being fertile - that's never been an issue here. Many of my first time layers have started nests of 18+ eggs and hatch all of them. I find 'scovies don't lay an egg a day unless they're going to go broody. If I take eggs away from their nests they either hide their nest better or stop laying.
