This chick was in hard shape when it hatched. It did not eat for 2 days and I had to force it to drink. Awful. Now it's eating well. i have to wet the food or it does not eat. This chick is a week old today and very small. It is supposed to be a white silkie chick. I bought 6 eggs off ebay and this is the only one that hatched. Does not look white to me. I think a brown silkie jumped the fence or something. I really hate it that it's a lone chick. I do not get attached to my chickens but this one I cannot help myself. I know it will not become a pet but I really do like having the little chick around. I have adult silkies but I would never put this one in at this age. Maybe in a few months. Maybe. Sorry it looks kind of shabby but I was feeding it egg yolks for a couple of days and that stuff is very hard to get off. Cute little bugger. Might name it bugger. I am wonering if it will change it's color to white. I don't think so. I love the color btw and am more than happy with it. I already have white silkies so this little bugger will be a wonderful addition. I don't have very good luck buying fertile eggs off ebay. From now on I am buying from a hatchery. At least I will have more than one.

I'm thinking that's a Buff Silkie.
I really hope so but I would be happy either way. It's more of a pet since it's the only one I have that is a baby. It's funny little chick. It loves company. I keep the little chick at my sewing table with me during the day.
