What color is my Rooster Americauna

i got him out of the assorted bantam bin at TSC i was told he was a splash americauna rooster but i was not to sure about that he has the puffy cheeks and beard like americaunas and EE's he is very small but is becoming mean and making my kids scared of him when they go outside and he is in the yard roaming he likes to jump the 8 foot fence. an i was wonting to sale him but wanted to know what he is and the color but since he looks to be a rare color that has not been seen before i might just keep him and make sure he is in the coop when my kids go out to play i was looking at pictures of roosters could he be a blue wheaton splash

he's a beautiful EE. (he is NOT a blue wheaten ameraucana) TSC does not sell purebred birds, they came from a hatchery. Hatcheries only have EE. If you wanted purebred ameraucanas you would have to get them from a breeder. I have some EE, they're great birds!

No, he isn't a splash in color or even a splash wheaten. He's just a great looking Easter Egger rooster. Really, he's one of the prettiest colors I've ever seen on an EE rooster.

TSC gets theirs from Privett in our area, if I recall correctly. I know that Privett does only sell EEs.

um.... they are the same...... and it looks blue.

They are not the same, and a true BLUE chicken is solid blue, no other color.

He is indeed an Easter Egger, and not a recognized color for any breed. He's a Golden Duckwing with blue, but likely with something else in there too.

Aw I didn't mean anything by it, mostly just a duck and cover warning..

Easter eggers are mixed breeds that can lay any color egg. Most are ameraucana mixes but can be other types. The reason your guy doesn't have a specific color name is because it is the result of a long line of mutt colors. He is not an ameraucana because of this, meaning his color would not meet any standard for show or breeding. That being said, he really is a very pretty Easter egger roo. I love when I see the blues meld with the blonde colors...
