Visiting chicken people, especially when they're practically neighbors has it's benefits and hazards ...

See he had this silkied serama rooster he had no use for... and a couple of spare chicks and some eggs... and welllll.... ummm I have room....

Bill is awesome good folks. His little flock is tremendous. And OMG serama babies are amazing...

And I really like the little silkied serama roo, who I've named Saul. He's a hoot.

The eggs went under a broody who messed up her own hatch. Hopefully she'll do better with the smaller batch of smaller eggs.

You can tell me what color he is if he is a color. Not that I actually care... he's adorable.

Here's himself and the babies. They're very freaked out and opposed to posing, but then so is he. His feathers are in a sad sad state but he has a million pin feathers now.

I need to be two people to photograph Saul, he's not too sure about this pet bird thing, though he's chirping, clicking and crowing fairly happily at this point. And once I do hold him he settles in but then I can't take a picture.

But he's soooo cool. He was on wire and in with three other cockerals and it shows on his poor feathers. Nothing a good moult and some extra protein can't handle. He's a doll.

I got some photos of the babies... maybe I'll upload those

They were freaked out and then I put in some of the silkie babies for comparison, the seramas are older by a good bit but half their size it's too cool.

Somebody needs to explain to his little royal highness that he cannot fly, that silkie feathers do not flight make.

He was a little weirded out by perching opportunities but he's getting it.

He'll have to adapt to indoor temps (AC) until I can get him a good spot outdoors.

But he's figuring things out. And he's taking to all the handling pretty well.

Seramas are so awesome!! I have a little white roo that just crowed today that I've heard. I have 2 hens for him one silkied and one regular. They are solid white and so cute!!

I have to see pics of them in the house!!

The whites are gorgeous!

The man I got him from has some awesome mottled ones as well as others.

I could totally spoil this bird silly.

Well, it's definately a silkied Serama. I have a little pullet that is pure white and silkied. I also have a regular white Serama, here she is her name is Brownie because she had a little brown on her when she was a chick. Now, she is solid white.
No, she is not dead, just sleeping. She loves being held.

She is posing for the camera.

This is Brownie when she was little. I have all kinds of pics of her. She is such a sweet chicken. I just recently got her a little boyfriend.

I really like the looks of that second chicks with the darker head. Want to send it to me? lol
Is Saul the dad? He is nice, but a little long in the back. Looks really small. I would call him red, but Im not a color expert!
Send me some pics of that chick when its older, I'd love to see!
