What color is this chicken?

I have a little girl who has a copy of dominant white (paint) and she has a couple of black feathers that show through. But she also has a khaki colored tint to her feathers. Is that just leakage? It is like that on basically her whole body.

Her mom is a NN paint silkie who has very white feathers with black spots (typical paint, no other leakage that I can detect)

Her dad a lavender bantam ameraucana. So she does carry for lavender.

Any info would be appreciated if someone can tell why she is more brown than white but still has some paint spots. I can get more photos of her too.

I am fairly certain that the mom (paint NN silkie) doesn’t carry lavender, so I don’t think that she could be lav/lav plus if she was I don’t believe that her tiny paint spots could be black. But I have wondered if the lav gene from her dad could be affecting something. I don’t know really anything about the chocolate/dun/khaki colors but I am fairly certain that her dad couldn’t have carried those as he’s purebred lavender ameraucana bantam.

As a chick this baby looked like a regular paint chick. Her brother who I don’t have anymore did also have some of the tan tint to his feathers. His mother was a different paint silkie hen. Same dad. So perhaps it did come from the father?

If mom was paint she could be mostly lavender but have some splash coloring in her feathers.

- the brother (he has some khaki color to his feathers but not as much - his mom was a different paint silkie hen but had the same dad)

- a lavender ameraucana bantam who was a hatch mate to the father of the chick in question. Think of her as the aunt But you can see her lavender coloring is quite different than the brownish chick that I am having lots of questions about.

She's Dirty Paint. The off color is due to Autosomal Red being present.

Here's a Dirty Paint cockerel, but he has alot more Autosomal Red showing along with the blueish/grey tones.

Thank you so much. I’ll have to do more research on autosomal red - I have no idea how it got into my flock. And I’m guessing it is probably difficult to breed out, like leakage. I really appreciate those photos, they give a great visual!

There's not tons of information on Autosomal Red. It's one gene I'm still learning about.

You're welcome. I like getting pictures of certain colors as examples for people.

I don't have anything to add to what @MysteryChicken said. That sounds like the most likely explanation for what you are seeing.
