What color is this egg?

Yesterday I got 2 first eggs, both soft shelled and broken, and I'm pretty sure from the same pullet. I'm about 90% sure it's my red sex link and blue copper marans mix, which I thought would lay a dark brown egg. Once dried, the shells look greenish! I have 2 EEs but I don't think they're ready to lay yet.

Anywho, what color would these eggs be? I put them next to a regular grocery store egg

Yesterday, I got this!!

I mean I guess there's always a chance it could be my EE but the RSL mix is the one who's been hanging out in the nest box for a few days. I have yet to see either of the EEs near the nestboxes. I'm really confused! I thought the RSL/marans combo would produce a dark brown egg.

A Sexlink/Marans mix would give you a brown egg. Maybe a darker brown egg than you get from a Sexlink, but maybe not as dark as a Marans.
Anyway, I'd guess one of your EEs is also the one giving you those eggs. Are you sure your Sexlink mix isn't mixed with EE? Marans have pink legs, Sexlinks yellow (I think?). Your hen has slate colored legs, a typical EE trait.

I'd also question the parentage of the red bird. I can't see the comb really well, but it's at least wavy enough to show some probably mixed heritage with a non-straight combed breed somewhere.

The pullet pictured here has a PEA comb. If there is any chance for red sex link bred with any blue/green egger she is it. And the eggs are extremely likely hers as there is a strong linkage between pea and the gene for blue/green eggs.

Curious- are you visiting this site on a phone or computer? On computer, might be able to right click either choose view image or open image(or link) in new window. That will bring up the pictures in their original size.. in this case the pictures are quite large and the comb is very clear in the second one.

I visit only by computer, no idea how to do this on a smarthphone.

Kev, I'd love to blame it on technology, but it's all me. I'm either on a computer or a tablet, but all the chemo, steroids and other assorted meds have messed with my detail vision. No point in getting it corrected until I'm done and fully recovered, so in the meantime I can't always tell details like comb styles unless it's a really good, close pic.
