Looks like the rooster does have the blue gene. The hen is also blue, she’s either blue birchen (aka silver blue) or the same cross as the rooster.He wouldn't sit still and this is the only one that was in focus. Sorry.

I picked up this hen today from the same breeder. She is sorta, kinda blue grey.

Don't feel bad asking. Anyone who wants to farther the Breed and have good blood is going to ask what it is and where did it come from. It's standard questions and any true breeder would be willing and happy to tell you. Usually leading to an entire life storyThank you. I don't quiz the breeder about their heritage. It would be rude to ask if he doesn't want to volunteer the info. I do know that he is fond of the whole blue thing. The blue always looks more like grey to me unless there is some bright red to highlight and set it off.
