1) the www.bantychicken.com website is gone. Were the posts on opal moved elsewhere?
2) specifically, what is the proposed standard, and how is the progress towards recognition?
3) is the predominant thought still that it is likely an as yet undocumented allele of C based upon breeding records?
I ask because some judges and silkie breeders of "porcelains" are saying they should be called opal. To me the phenotype and genotype seem to be completely different. The porcelains are definitely lav/lav, and my understanding is that opals are Lav+/Lav+ and of course, the differences go on from there.
