What color of egg will these chicks lay?

I'm gonna find you in a few days and see how that goes for ya

Well now you may be on to something. Wellies do look very much like brown leghorns in their color but Wellies lay a very dark brown egg. I call them chocolate eggs.

Are brown leghorns striped? If not, then I think they may indeed be Wellies. Forgive this beginner, but how often do these misidentifications occur at feed stores or from hatcheries? Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

Brown Leghorns are stripey. Misidentifications DO happen, though.

Well let's just say that when I ordered 100 wellies year before last, I opened the box and was beyond mad because I thought they sent me 100 brown leghorns. I thought it so much that I called them very upset and ended up sending an apology letter about 2 months later

Now that was a bigger goof than Kooshie's typo earlier! Either way you will get a nice egg and a full tummy. If they grow up, lay white eggs and are very slender in shape then its brown leghorns and if it grows up lays brown eggs and is kinda boxy shaped then its a wellie possibly.
